Seasons Beatings - Smugglers Tavern

We went along to 'Seasons Beatings' - billed as The Firms Christmas do - with some trepidation. It was a dark quiet deserted Warren Street that greeted us on a cold slightly wet Sunday evening. True to form The Smugglers Tavern a small pub was there, the windows covered up with paper and The Firm's sign outside.

The Smugglers Tavern is quite a small pub, about half the size of the fringe, with one ground floor bar, one upstairs bit, pretty small and a couple of toilets downstairs. Cozy but not much room.

Now by opening time there were about 20 guys arrived ranging in age from 30 to 70 and sadly only one damsel visible. Surely a bad sign as long standing Firm visitors will know. Shades of Slough, The East End and a number of other venues of olde. Basically if there aren't at least a dozen or so ladies inside the venue when it opens, it's indicative of something of a slow time ahead.

Of course the great hope is that they are all going to suddenly troop through the door at midnight! As we had to leave early perhaps someone can let us know if this in fact happened? But we rather think not.

As we left we can't file a full review but from the looks of the venue we suspect that this event may have been an unadulterated flop. Anyone else attend?
