Next Generation is a tattoo and piercing studio in Stony Stratford, which is near Milton Keynes. The shop has been open for a few years now, and is always buzzing (no pun intended), with appointments being made through the week and a first-come, first-served system on Saturdays.
I had a fair bit of tattoo work done there last year and the year before, as well as having my tongue pierced by them. I found them so much better than some other studios that I have been in that I thought it was worth writing a review of them.
The tattoos are done by Lee, who is very professional, and takes plenty of time talking over what you want before he even puts a transfer on your skin, let alone touches a needle to it. Lee has a good 'bedside' manner, putting you at ease with his sense of humour, and the whole shop has a relaxed, 'no hassle' feel to it. The aftercare is also good, with Lee willing to answer any questions you might have about your new artwork whenever you ring up or drop in to see him.
The piercing half of the studio is run by Antonia. When I had my tongue pierced, I was particularly impressed at how gentle she was - I didn't really realise when I was pierced, in fact it hurt less than having a plaster ripped off of your arm! Antonia never makes you feel rushed, like you are in some sort of conveyor system - you have plenty of time to relax before and after you are pierced. Again, the aftercare is excellent, with advice on care of your piercing and free fitting of new jewellery bought at the shop (they have a lot of cool jewellery on sale in the shop and even more can be ordered).
I would recommend this studio to anyone for an excellent experience of body-art. For a nervous newcomer or an experienced collector of body-art, you will find this studio relaxing, professional and genuinely friendly.
