Klymax - Portsmouth Fetish NightReview: Event

Saturday night (2nd December) I went to Klymax, a fetish club night organised in Portsmouth and I think I can definitely say that a good time was had by all!

It wasn't a very large venue, basically three biggish rooms above a night club (I got to the main entrance and asked if this was where the club was. The people on the door pointed at the room full of vanilla people dancing and I said "No, the /other/ club". "Ah, around the back and up the fire escape...!")

There were about thirty people there, but, interestingly enough, the room that got the least use was the one with the dance music playing! Everyone was too busy in the dungeon or the dark/ chill out areas :-)

The dungeon was already in use by the resident mistress (and her eager assistant) and it got a fair bit of use all through the evening, There wasn't much in the way of equipment, a St Andrews Cross, whipping horse and some cuffs and collars chained to the wall (supplied, I understand, by an altruistic local manufacturer who was also happy to loan out a rather effective wood handled flogger and a "Big Hand" riding whip"!), but that didn't stop people having fun.

The free bar was fairly well frequented, but no one got silly and everyone just had enough to have a good time.

Everyone had made an effort to comply with the dress code, there was lots of PVC, leather and rubber, a kinky nurse and a fireman(!), a few TVs and so on (one guy was dressed in a pair of boots, a collar and a cock ring!) so no one felt out of place.

All in all, for a first event I think this one went very well and a lot of people said they'd like to come to another one (provisionally planned for the second Saturday in February, more details when available).

There will probably be a few changes, eg the big room that was the disco will most likely become the dungeon (more room to swing cats!), and the organisers will try to persuade the club owners to drop or reduce their requirement that ?15 of each ticket goes to cover the free bar, so it will be more affordable to get in. There was also consideration of "non-drinker" tickets for the teetotallers amongst us.

All in all I think this was a worthwhile evening and I hope that more people will turn up for the next one so we can actually generate some life down here on the south coast.
