Scarlet - The Nightmare Before ChristmasReview: Event

Last Friday saw my pervy buddies and I, heading along to Subway City in Birmingham for Scarlets 'The Nightmare before Christmas.'

I don't know what it was, but this Scarlet was very different to others I've been to...nothing odd there I suppose, as I've said before, every Scarlet is different...but this was something else...not in a bad way...but it was different...in a weird way.

For a start, there were lots of new faces... which is good, and about time in my opinion! **grins**
I still find it hard to believe, we have a fetish event as good as Scarlet...in Brum...yet it never seems to get the amount of bodies through the door that you'd expect find.
But here they were...plenty of new faces...only, now, not so many of the regulars seemed to be in!
Hmmm...was Scarlet suffering at the hands of the office Xmas party?
It certainly looked that way...and I think without enough regulars there, the vibe that only they can inject, was lacking...the over all feel was one of nervousness...almost as though the night was holding it's breath waiting for something to happen.

It was one of those occasions where I didn't catch a single performance. I meant to...all night, but never quite pulled it off.
So what was I doing instead?
You know I couldn't tell you, the night sort of zipped away, gone in a flash, what ate up the time is beyond me.
I know I danced a bit...to the break-beat at the start of the night, which I love! It took a while to get people ‘moving', but it got there in the end, and before the hard-house started sometime around 12.30a.m, there were a fair few people bouncing around like maniacs!
The music generally as always was first rate all around the club...upstairs a riot as always!
I chatted too, a lot...I love catching up with all those lovely naughty people that I maybe only ever see at Scarlet.

But Scarlet, isn't Scarlet for me, if I don't get in, a trip to the dungeon!
Expecting to have to fight my way to the equipment...when we got there however, it was very, very quiet!
I know I had a little moan about the it last time, but I'd rather see inappropriate stuff going on in there, than nothing at all! A few people did use the equipment, but, on going in there to watch them...well, my crowd and I felt that we weren't welcome to...and we weren't the only ones to think so.
That's the first time I've experienced that kind of attitude at Scarlet, and I do hope we were either mistaken, unfortunate with our timing, or it was simply down to the fact there were so many newcomers there, and no-one really knew how to proceed in these things.
It can be nerve wracking, in a new experience to have people looking over your shoulder...I appreciate that, so that may well have been the reason...but I hope it doesn't stay that way...the dungeon at Scarlet is usually the best place to be as far as I'm concerned! ;)
So while we were in there, me and mine made the most of the grope box seeing as it was the one piece of the kit I hadn't used before...and what fun that was!
I know where I'll be next time...and I shall get there much earlier so I don't get kicked out before I'm ready when the dungeon closes for the night! ;)

I did spend a fair bit of time, watching the proceedings of the bondage and suspension display...which was wonderful!
Not just because it's so aesthetically pleasing to look at, but I love watching the transformation of the people as they go through the process.
They are not the same people when they are lowered back to the ground again, and the ropes are removed. As someone who loves the hold of the ropes, it's with much interest I watch another person's transition, and then their return to normality...brilliant stuff! :)

So, I don't have much to report do I, what with me missing the performances and all...I promise to do better next time **grins** but what I will say, is Scarlet is truly growing into it's own. This event showed it with far greater clarity than I have ever seen it before...

As Scarlet grows and gains confidence, so do the people that go. Scarlet is like an entity in it's own right...and we are all a living part of it.
Everyone that has been with Scarlet for the last 12 months, is really growing into their fetish personality if you like, myself included...and it doesn't seem to matter, if you're new to the scene, or have been doing it for years. Scarlet gives everyone the chance to be a celebrity...a chance to really be who you want to be...and the space to explore it!

Re: Scarlet - The Nightmare Before Christmas#1

Having tried several times to log in (unsuccessfully) I'll have to write this anonymously...but my name on here is littlegoddess123.

Anyway...about Scarlet.....hmmmmmmm It's a fetish club, NOT a play club which isn't a problem if that is what you expect, however, dress code isn't strict and on the occasions that I have been there, people just walk in off the street dressed in very casual clothes, no fetish gear (and then proceed to take their blouses off in the ladies loos and tie them around their wastes!).

A lot of the crowd are young (18 year olds with crops ) which makes for a very clubby atmosphere. The music is varied from room to room which is nice, but be prepared...drugs are rife, (unless that funny smell was very bad aftershave, and they were all roll up ciggies, AND lots of people were taking pills/powders for headaches!!!).

The dungeon, well although the equipment is good, it's freezing cold and very dark...not good if you do actually want to play.

The shows are a good idea, something that IS missing in Brum. Unfortunately, for me, the night is tainted by drunk or otherwise affected people, and a freezing cold/dark play area (no criticism of the suppliers of the dungeon, my guess is you have to put it where you are told!).

So....I may go again in a few months time, just to see if anything has changed, but it is not a club that I would hurry back to.
