Where to wear? | Request |

By Anonymous on Tue 18 May 2004 at 13:44 | I'd like to ask for suggestions for a suitable venue for a first-time couple who are more interested in the 'look' of fetish clothing than S/M or swinging. My lover is starting to show interest in kinky clothing, and I'm very keen to encourage this!
We've started off with corsets and she's well and truly hooked - we recently bought her third one She's started looking at latex clothes, and I'm hoping that I can get her just as hooked on them as on corsets. The trick is finding the right opportunity to wear them - she's worn her corsets out on a few occasions and, although she turns heads wherever she goes, it's not too out of place. Latex might be slightly different, however
I've been thinking of suggesting that we should go to something like the Skin Two Rubber Ball (we're near London), but I've never been to one before and am not entirely sure what goes on at such an event. Both of us are interested in this type of clothing for aesthetic reasons - neither of us are particularly into the S/M or swinging side of things. I wouldn't want to take her somewhere too 'heavy' which might put her off.
I would very much welcome any suggestions. Thanks everyone!

Although there is a dungeon, and areas where people are likely to be shagging, they're very well separated from the dancefloor, bar and general walking around areas - so you can basically decide what you're comfortable with seeing, and stick to the areas where that's happening.
Also, there are some truly amazing outfits at almost any Torture Garden event, so it's pretty hard to be self-conscious about your own outfit, no matter how skimpy

A dungeon and various playrooms are present but these are separate from the main dance area so you don't have to get too involved in any sexual or SM play.
Failing that Rubber Ball is always excellent, although it's only on in October. That has to be one of the best fetish events ever. We love Inner Sanctum and House of Harlot for rubber wear. Skin Two also looks very good but we've yet to buy any of their creations.
Dressing in rubber and corsetry is as valid a reason for attending a fetish event as any. It is unlikely things will be too heavy on the S&M or swinging front (unless they advertise as an on-premise swingers club, which generally isn't about fetish wear as much as the sex side of things anyway). People on the fetish scene are lovely and have an etiquette of their own. The good clubs don't allow sex pests and rules are strict about unwelcome advances. This is why fetish clubs are so good if you like to dress up.
Good luck with the latex. Maybe see you at Manchester Fetish? We'll be there.
Rubbery non-swinger type hugs
Mark & Ruth
